Firefighting & Fire Alarm Systems / Fire Protection
Fire Protection Design: In order to calculate the water required for cooling the equipment, two standards, NFPA15 and API2030, and other valid specs and working methods are used, and finally, the pump capacity is calculated using NFPA 20. Then the hydraulic calculations are performed using Pipenet software and PID and PFD maps are generated based on it. Foam calculations are also performed according to NFPA 11 and valid work methods provided by international companies. AITCE has a valuable resume for water and foam-based design.
Water Curtain Systems: There are some problems with water curtain designing, one of which is uncertainty of the proper functioning of safeguards and mitigation systems. For example, in the design of water curtain systems, there are always questions about proper location, nozzle design, etc., which can be done by using the FDS calculation code and the relevant modeling.
(Note: The document also mentions providing basic and detailed design of fire alarm systems including location of detectors, datasheet preparation, cabling maps, panel maps, and C&E maps.)
