Detector Mapping

Gas Detector Mapping: Proposed detector layout should be assessed to ensure adequate coverage so that the footprint is sufficient to provide the required hazard alarms and control actions, and that views are not impeded by pipework, cable trays, and other obstructions. We have two software tools for detector mapping:

• CFD tool (InFlux): Based on scenario coverage, which is the fraction of release scenarios that would occur as a result of the loss of containment that can be detected.

• Geometry base (Detect3D): Based on geographic coverage, which is the fraction of the geometric area of a monitored process area that would be detected if a release were to occur.
